Priscilla Stephan - Founder

Priscilla StephanPriscilla Stephan was born in São Paulo but her British accent often fools people of her roots. She has traveled extensively outside of Brazil and has lived most of her life in such cities as London, Paris or New York. After receiving a Master's degree in International Affairs from Columbia University, Priscilla moved to Washington, D.C. where for the last few years, she has worked in the environmental conservation field.

While her work was intellectually stimulating, Priscilla longed to nurture her artistic side. Even as a little girl she loved pretty things like jewelry and the Brazilian accessories her mother always wore. After having several colleagues, and even women on the street, stop her to inquire about her Brazilian jewelry, Priscilla decided that there was a desire in the States for unique high quality Brazilian accessories and bakana was born.
